Final Project:
The unit on R7 at Maine Medical Center provided us with great feedback! Kallan was able to present to the unit, and was able to get the nurses to fill our questionnaire’s to give us feedback. We genuinely appreciate their feedback and time they took to answer our questions so we can improve in the future!
Overall, the nurses said we did a wonderful job on our project and they learned a variety of new things. Some really enjoyed learning how Influenza effects the heart muscle, and many enjoyed the statistics presented on our project! There were a few nurses who have been working on the unit for a long time and already knew some of this information. On the other hand, many other nurses commented how they didn’t know how serious Influenza can be on the heart and are glad they learned! Lastly, some nurses commented that they will be educating their patients in the future on how serious Influenza is to their heart to further help encourage them to receive the vaccine!
In the future I want to add more statistics on our projects as the nurses seemed to be very interest related to that! I want to continue to dig deeper, and really enjoyed this project. I think it’s awesome that I’ve picked a career that is constantly looking to improve, learn, and grow. We are encouraged to find new evidenced based practice to create the best patient outcomes! This constant change keeps us on our toes and allows us to constantly learn, which is a beautiful thing. I cannot wait to help many people in my future, and look forward to continuing to use EBP to give my patients the best care they can receive!
