ATI Adaptive Maternal/Newborn Reflection

ATI Adaptive Maternal/Newborn Reflection

This ATI went pretty well as I’m slowly improving my test taking skills and strategies. To begin, I became better at priority questions. Which patient is the most critical, which patient would I see first. This is very important in any medical setting as I will have many different patients, and it’s up to me as the Nurse to critically think who would need the most help and who would I see first. This is something I’m proud about, but will continue to work on. While taking this ATI, I was more aware about my time, but still working towards not rushing. I believe realizing this is something I will still work on is a great start, and although I went too fast for some of the questions, others I reminded myself to take my time. I was able to recognize when I needed a break, or when I was starting to lose focus. During these times I would walk away, get a drink of water, and come back with a fresh mindset. I can tell when i took a break as those areas consisted of more right and thought out answers. With these small improvements I’m becoming more aware of how I test, and where my weaknesses are. By recognizing these now in February, I can continue to work and improve my test taking skills before not only NCLEX, but before working as an RN!
